Who We Are

Dr Theologia Iliadou

Founder and Managing Director

GenSec Consulting was established in 2016 with the aim to offer independent and cutting edge professional services to governmental actors, NGOs, civil society, private sector and international organizations on topics relating to labour, gender and security. GenSec has a strong network of affiliates and collaborators on a global level.

Dr Iliadou has a background in organizational design, human resources management and labour rights, and an in-depth knowledge on the globalization of production and global supply chains. As a political scientist, having developed an interest in the intersection between labour rights, globalization and gender, she wrote her thesis on the national and international management of unregulated economic migration with a focus on gender and through the lens of security. Her interests, experience and knowledge extend to topics such as anti-trafficking, refugees, gender based violence and female political participation.

Through an active presence, as a paper presenter and delegate, in international conferences and workshops, she remains up to date with global and regional legislative, as well as practical developments, and expands GenSec's network with global contacts.

Parallel to her research activities, she has been working as an advisor and consultant for developmental and anti-trafficking NGOs based in USA, Europe, Africa and Asia helping them develop their partnerships with the private sector and strengthen their political advocacy agendas. Her collaborations with NGOs working with vulnerable population groups in developing and post-conflict countries in Europe, Africa and the Caribbean, have provided her with the opportunity to engage with the corporate responsibility agenda of the private sector in seeking to establish partnerships with NGOs and civil society as part of their Creating Shared Values Strategies and in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Currently she is focusing on the development of projects on peace, security, gender and foreign policy.
